Creating inclusive play spaces isn’t just about the bigger kids – sometimes the smallest visitors need the most thoughtful design. When Exeter Golf & Country Club approached us, they recognised something many venues overlook: that dedicated toddler play equipment can transform how young families experience their facilities. Soft play areas for toddlers require careful consideration of safety, accessibility, and developmental benefits. Here’s how we helped them create a space where babies and toddlers could explore, develop, and play with complete confidence.
Exeter Golf & Country Club wanted to enhance their family-friendly offering. While their facilities attracted plenty of adult members, they needed something special for the youngest visitors; A safe play area for toddlers where parents could relax knowing their babies were entertained and developing those crucial early motor skills.
The club faced a common problem: existing play equipment catered to older children, leaving parents of little ones with limited options. They needed dedicated baby play equipment and toddler climbing frames that would give confidence for parents of babies taking their first steps, while still offering enough variety to keep slightly older toddlers engaged. It had to feel safe without being boring, and compact enough to fit their available space.
We designed and installed a bespoke padded play area for babies and toddlers, specifically scaled for the under-threes. Our soft play surfaces provide the perfect landing spot for wobbly first steps and tumbles, giving parents peace of mind while their babies explore. For toddlers ready for their next adventure, we incorporated an indoor toddler climbing frame – just challenging enough to feel like a proper achievement, but sized perfectly for those shorter legs and developing coordination.
The entire toddler soft play setup uses vibrant, engaging colours that capture young attention, while the thoughtful padding means even the most enthusiastic crawlers and climbers can play safely. Every element of our sensory play equipment was chosen with accessibility in mind, ensuring babies and toddlers of all abilities can join in.
The club now has a thriving space where the youngest members can enjoy age-appropriate play equipment while parents enjoy their visit. Membership enquiries from young families have increased, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Parents love having a dedicated spot where they can now relax, knowing their little ones are in a safe, accessible toddler play area.
