The Client

Beekse Bergen is a safari park in the Netherlands; the largest of its kind in the entire Benelux region.

With bus, boat and car safaris available, as well as several walking routes where you can witness the animals from a safe distance, Beekse Bergen has long been an exceptionally popular attraction, and with a safari hotel and resort, as well as a lake resort, they’ve got plenty to offer to keep their guests happy.

But, like any good leisure business, the team are always looking for ways to improve, which is where we come in.

The Challenge

Understandably, the safari business at Beekse Bergen is pretty seasonal.  Between April and September, it’s pretty much the most popular attraction in the area, but in the colder, winter months, it’s been much more of a challenge to attract customers.

The team at Beekse Bergen came to us with the same challenge so many of our clients do – “What can we create that’ll help us go from strictly seasonal to attractive all-year around?”

What We Did

Designed specifically to provide hours of entertainment when the weather isn’t perfect for safari, we got busy creating a giant, indoor, pirate-themed soft play area.

The safari park’s visitors are diverse, and as a result it was important to make sure there was something for every age group, and with this factored into the plan we created a baby/toddler space and a small multi-trampoline area, as a well as the aforementioned giant soft play, complete with a mini ninja run, football pitch and a giant 4-lane astra slide.

The theme runs through the entire area, not just on the external walls, but internally too, with pirate lookout areas, soft play barrel flooring, palm tree bash bags, and plenty more.

The Result

The most popular attraction in the area now has another major string to their bow, that’ll help bring in new customers, and give existing customers a reason to come back, whether the sun is shining for safari or not.
